All The Colours of The Rainbow - nail polishes part 6

Purple

There's a couple of shades here that just don't seem to want to photograph well, despite trying several times. Oh, for a better-lit house!

  1. DS Mystery
  2. China Glaze - First Class Ticket
  3. Sinful - Diablo
  4. OPI - Ink
  5. OPI - Siberian Nights
  6. OPI - Merry Midnight
  7. Zoya - Savita (matte)
  8. Zoya - Mimi
  9. China Glaze - C-C-Courage
  10. China Glaze - LOL
  11. OPI - Ink (Suede)
  12. China Glaze - Flying Dragon
  13. Color Club - Rev'd Up
  14. OPI - Mad As A Hatter
  15. OPI - Purple With A Purpose
  16. Zoya - Charisma
  17. Essie - Perky Purple
  18. China Glaze - Grape Pop
  19. China Glaze - Grape Juice
  20. OPI - A Grape Fit
Diablo is one of my favourite purples. It's very dark, but not to the point that it looks black. Not at all red-toned & a stunning metallic finish. For a cheap polish, Sinful is great quality.

There's definitely a difference between Ink in the regular finish & the Suede version. Regular Ink is a touch darker & looks less blue.

Charisma & Perky Purple are the ones that are hard to photograph. They seem to look washed out. Both are very vivid hot pinky-purples. They're incredibly similar but, side, by side, you can see a difference. Charisma is a touch deeper. Both dry to a matte finish but a glossy topcoat sorts that out.

Whilst it's a pretty purple, I reserve Grape Pop for toes. Like Re-Fresh Mint, it seems to peel away from nails quite easily.

  1. OPI - Parlez-vous OPI?
  2. Zoya - Juicy
  3. OPI - Louvre Me, Louvre Me Not
  4. OPI - Pamplona Purple
  5. OPI - Sapphire In The Snow
  6. OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark
  7. OPI - Lincoln Park After Midnight
  8. China Glaze - Octa-Gone Wild
  9. China Glaze - Harmony
  10. China Glaze - IDK
  11. Zoya - Zara
  12. China Glaze - Light As Air
  13. Zoya - Vegas Freeze
  14. China Glaze - Mummy May I?
  15. China Glaze - Let's Groove
  16. Zoya - Dannii
  17. Zoya - Marley

Juicy looks deep & dark in the bottle but it's more of a jelly. A few coats are needed to get a good colour payoff.

Sapphire In The Snow is Siberian Nights' more purple-toned sister. Both dark cremes with great application & a nice, glossy finish.

Octa-Gone Wild & IDK are a very similar shade. Because of the glittery finish, Octa-Gone Wild is the more vivid of these two purple holos.

Mummy May I? has been compared to Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance. For a cheaper dupe, MMI does the job but they're not identical. It has more of a dark purple base & lacks BR's larger, hexagonal glitter chunks.

As with the afore-mentioned Grape Pop, Light As Air is a peeler. A shame because it's a pretty light lilac shade. It does look a tad different here. On the nail, it has a touch of grey to it.
